WHAT THE REVIEWS SAY

ChristophFischerBooks "Chris"
"My First Travel Book" by Anna Othitis offers a wonderful way to teach young children about famous and beautiful places of our world.
A short illustrated page on several cities and sights in Africa, Europe and the US explains the significance of the places and then asks questions so you can see if the children still remember.
It's a great way to learn, Othitis has carefully composed the pages to make them fun and entertaining as well as educational.
It is books like these that made me decide to make travel my profession, which is was for 15 years. Othitis brought back my excitement of those days and I am sure she will have the same effect on her readers, young and old.
The production values of the e-book are amazing.

An Interview with Steven Woodford, Author of SHORTS,

Interview:

Steven Woodford, author of SHORTS, auto-bio collection from a life in the deep south, the upside and downside of New York City, falling in love, suffering the death of love (both figuratively and literally, teaching middle school for 28 years, spending 30 years as a NY theatre and music critic and then……….finally………coming to rest, mid-flight, in the Florida Keys.

Where are you from? Born in Winston-Salem, NC; raised in Homestead, FL, matured (allegedly) in New York and New Jersey, and retired to an acre of paradise near Key West

Why do you write? Because I have lived so many lives that someone had to write them down.  You can’t make this stuff up!!!

What inspired you to write your first book? I was shamed into it by three friends who published a wide range of fiction, fantasy, and murder mysteries, who shamed me into doing it.

What genre do you typically write? Short stories came first and now a novel (“Blue Ridge Walker”) is in the works, in which nobody is who they seem and nobody knows one woman in particular…………A ghost?  A witch?  A psychic? Or just an old bag lady who is younger than her years.

Do you feel like you have a specific writing style?  It all comes down to telling the truth (either embroidered or not) and learning to laugh and cry with equal gusto.

How long does it usually take you to write a book?  About a year.

What do you do to conquer writer’s block?  Take a nap!  Drink a beer!  Let the block dissolve of its own accord.

What actor or actress would you like to see play your character in the movie adaptation?  I’d like to be played by Bryan Cranston, since people say I look like him and he is a terrific actor:  that is unless Hugh Jackman is available.

Who is your favorite author and what is it about them that inspires you?  Nora Ephron because her heart and soul are in everything she put to paper.

What book are you reading now? Dean Koontz’s “The City”

What are your current projects? A new novel, wildlife photography and wondering why anyone would want to live anywhere other than Key West

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?  Researching a locale that I have not previously explored.

Do you have any advice for other writers?  JUST DO IT !!!
